There are seriously endless options to creating healthy and gluten-free Pizza bases packed with nutritious vegetables. I’ve made cauliflower, cauliflower and zucchini (courgette) and now sweet potato and cauliflower. So easy to make and super satisfying, this is another pizza base you just have to try! High in Protein and Low in Carbs.
Two sweet potato recipes in a row eh?! First a sweet recipe with my Healthy Sweet Potato Carrot Cake and now savoury, it really shows you how versatile sweet potato is! Especially with the ease of the FullGreen Sweet Potato Rice packs. You can check their website out here.. fullgreen if you’re interested.
Like I said, I just love making different varieties of healthy pizza bases and you can find my other two here.. Cauliflower and Courgette Pizza and Cauliflower Pizza. Thats not to say I don’t enjoy regular pizza, of course I do! However, to me these pizzas I would enjoy on a more regular basis and I’d think nothing of having them at least once a week; such a great alternative and you get to have pizza once a week!!
The bases are high in protein containing 18g of Protein so they are perfect if you are following a vegetarian diet and are looking at ways to increase your protein. You then of course get the added protein in the cheese you put on top. I tend to go for either Goats Cheese or Mozzarella, so yummy!
Step 1: In a bowl combine the sweet potato rice, blended cauliflower, egg, flour and tamari
Step 2: Flatten the combined mixture out to form the base on a piece of baking paper sprayed with some coconut oil
Step 3: Cook in the oven for around 15-20 minutes until the base browns
Step 4: Add your favourite toppings and place back in the oven for 10 minutes
Step 5: Add any additional toppings such as rocket and serve!
I love topping my pizza with tomato, rocket, peppers, mushrooms and mozzarella but feel free to add whichever toppings you prefer.
